Free Turkeys for vets

Free Turkeys for Vets

Every November, the Community Ambulance Company, in collaboration with partners including Suffolk AME, Suffolk Police Veterans Association, and others, hosts a special drive-thru event at 420 Lakeland Avenue, Sayville, next to the Sayville VFW Post 433. This annual initiative involves the distribution of 200 free 10-14 pound turkeys as a gesture of gratitude to honor the unwavering service of military families and veterans. With logistical support from the Sayville Fire Department, attendees have the opportunity to meet notable figures such as the Civilian Aid to the Secretary of the Army, Steve Castleton, access information on the “Vets to Vollies” volunteering program, interact with the Suffolk Police Veterans Association, discover the LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum, and receive additional meal sides courtesy of the Connetquot High School and Middle School Volleyball teams. Year after year, we warmly invite all military personnel, veterans, and their supporters to join us in this heartfelt appreciation event.
