Alyson Sena | 3-28-52
Alyson’s journey with us began in November 2018, inspired by her older sister, who was also part of our team. After graduating from Bayport-Blue Point High School, Alyson had some extra time and wasn’t quite sure where to direct her energies. Originally, she dreamt of a career working with animals and was pursuing a degree in marine biology. However, her sister encouraged her to try something new.
From her very first ride-along, Alyson discovered a passion for emergency medicine. She was captivated by the sense of gratitude and the endless opportunities to learn as an EMT. Her dedication led her to work with multiple agencies, including a memorable stint as a beach EMT at Robert Moses State Park.
Now a certified Paramedic, Alyson serves as an ALS provider across several agencies, driven by her desire to make a difference in people’s lives. When she’s not on duty, you might find Alyson strumming her guitar, sharing laughs with loved ones, or showing off her impressive collection of marine life tattoos—a nod to her enduring love for the ocean. Alyson is a wonderful addition to our team, bringing her unique blend of compassion, expertise, and humor.

This year, she looks forward to returning to oversee the same Youth Squad program that shaped her, while also focusing on training the membership at large. In August of 2023, Giavana began pursuing her doctorate in medicine, and when probed regarding her specialty of choice, she will coyly reply “emergency medicine” as if years at Community Ambulance have nothing to do with it! When she is not training members or coordinating chaos, you can find her spending time outdoors with one (or all!) of her three dogs…or doing anything with a large coffee in hand.
