Welcome to our website. I am honored and privileged to serve as the Chief of the Community Ambulance Company for 2024. For the past 74 years, we have faithfully provided 911 emergency medical services to the residents of Sayville, West Sayville, Bayport, Bohemia, Oakdale, and Cherry Grove.

Who are we? Our members are “Neighbors helping Neighbors.” We are your friends, relatives, and fellow residents. We come from many different backgrounds and have many different professions. Yet, we are united by the desire to help others in need. We have trained countless hours and stand ready to answer your call for help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Community Ambulance Co. has always been the leader in EMS procedure and technology. In the 1980’s we were the first EMS agency in Suffolk County to perform endotracheal intubation, an advanced airway procedure that is now common practice. In 2013 we were the first agency to perform therapeutic hypothermia to improve neurologic outcomes in our most critically ill patients. We were one of the first and most active agencies to administer intranasal Narcan, a lifesaving procedure to reverse opiate overdoses.

I am continually impressed by the dedication of our members. They leave their families at all hours of the day, night and holidays to answer a stranger’s call for help.
